Summary
Death Comes to Pemberley was written by a woman named P.D. James. It is considered a "historical whodunnit" kind of book, because it is a murder mystery that takes place in 1803. The world of happy couple, Mr. and Mrs. Darcy, is flipped upside down when a murder takes place on their land a few days before their annual fall ball. In the middle of the night, Mrs. Darcy's irresponsible and senseless sister, Lydia, appears at their door in hysterics. It is later discovered that Lydia and Wickham, who are not welcome at the Darcy's home due to past conflicts, were on their way to beautiful Pemberley estate with one of Wickham's fellow soldiers. They intended on going to the ball, but not all of them made it to Pemberley. Wickham's friend that accompanied them, Captain Denny, was killed before the reached the house. After this discovery, a whirl-wind of events take place in order to find who killed Captain Denny.
